Arts & Crafts Era Young Man Ringing the Town Bell Sculpture Table or Desk Lamp

About the Item

Large and highly decorative antique table lamp with stunning quality boy sculpture. If you are looking for a rare and meaningful table lamp that is also great to look at, then this could be the one for you. At the center of this early 20th century work of lighting art is a young male who is energetically ringing the town bell. In days prior to telephony the town bell was used for communicating all kinds of important events. It was used to call worshipers, but it would also be used in case of a fire and other urgent matters. The truly realistic posture of this young man reveals the great skill of the sculptor and the patina on this early 1900s table lamp makes it extra attractive. The marbled glass, mint shade is not original, but because of its bell shape and perfect size it works really well. This rare, artistic and meaningful table lamp is an absolute joy to own and look at. And the warm light it radiates in the evening creates an atmosphere of real class and beauty. It is professionally rewired for safe and immediate usage in the USA as well and when purchased by an American client we will attach an American power plug so that it can be used and enjoyed upon arrival. Our price even includes perfect packing and also free delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days. No matter where you live on our beautiful planet. • French Art Deco Opalescent Glass Table or Desk Lamp with Stylish Bison Sculpture
    By Edmond Etling
    Located in Lisse, NL
Rare and stylish bison sculpture lampby EDMOND ETLING. This beautiful and truly artistic Art Deco table lamp comes with the signature "Etling France" and model number. Edmond Laurent Etling (23 June 1878 – around 1940) was a French art dealer, gallery owner, designer and a manufacturer of high-quality decorative objects made of bronze, ceramics and art glass in the Art Deco style. His company La Societe Anonyme Edmond Etling, founded in Paris in 1909, manufactured decorative objects and commissioned sculptors and artists, including Georges Béal, Demétre Chiparus, Claire Colinet, Armand Godard, Geneviève Granger, Marcel Guillard, Maurice Guiraud-Rivière, Géza Hiecz, Fanny Rozet, and Lucille Sévin. Other artists that worked with Etling for casting their statuettes included Aurore Onu, Marcel Bouraine, Pierre Le Faguays, Raymonde Guerbe and André Vincent Becquerel. Etling is known for light blue opalescent objects such as plates and bowls, which were also produced in gray and frosted glass. Most items bore the cast signature "Etling France" followed by a model number related to the Choisy-le-Roi catalogue. In 1910, Etling was awarded the diplome d'honneur at Brussels International (1910). In 1923, he was awarded the Grand Prix in Paris. In 1940, Etling closed his shop due to World War II. Because Etling was of Jewish descent, he was sent to a Nazi concentration camp, where he died. This early 1900s, sculptural table lamp clearly has many typical bison features making it easy to tell from further away as well. The overal design and opalescent colors of this bison on a hand carved wooden base makes this work of lighting art an absolute joy to own and look at. And with the light switched on, this art glass table lamp creates a warm light that makes every room an even greater pleasure to be in. This is the ideal light for a (private) library or for a desk, but this bison sculpture beauty also makes a great gift. This work of art table lamp is rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage the world over and when purchased by an American client we will also attach an American power plug so it can be used and enjoyed upon arrival. Mind you, our price for this rare light includes perfect packing (in a custom made and strengthened box) and also worldwide shipping from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days. Maximum height x width x depth including wooden base: 7.7 x 9 x 4.8 inches. Height x width x depth of the glass bison...

  • Indoor Outdoor Arts & Crafts Style Floral Table Lamps
    Located in Chattanooga, TN
Clever and stylish pair of indoor / outdoor Table lamps. The early 21st century lamps are made of resin making them resilient against weather. The lamps feature grounded, heavy duty cords, switches encapsulated in rubber and glass domed sockets. All these attributes prevent water from infiltrating the electric components. It’s safe to use these on your deck, lanai, porch, balcony or patio. The lamps are just as well suited for use indoors. You can even add a standard lamp shade if you wish. The technologically advanced lamps have a whimsical Arts & Crafts design. The lamps look and feel like metal, but it’s resin. In this case, it’s better to have resin. Otherwise metal would rust. We’ve outfitted the lamps with fairy bulbs. These bulbs give a soft, ambient, flickering light.
