Venetian Carved Giltwood light Torchiere Candleholder Floor Lamp Collectible LA . Very fine and rare pair of 18th century hand carved and giltwood torches candleholder. Sitting on a tripod base with darkened and gilt wood. Very finely carved and mirror glass fitted, each hold 3 figures of saints that goes up all the way to the candle holders where it sits on a base decorated with Scrolls and carved leaves and flowers and the old metal work hosts the candle. This pair could flank the sides of a Gothic fireplace or on each side of a tapestry. In a Dining Room they will be the perfect addition for a touch of elegance and history. These pieces were commissioned for Old families and Cathedrals. I could see them used in a simple decor such as Axel Vervoordt as a statement piece in hallway or living space.
