About the Item

Elegant bell chandelier in pink Murano glass with a marbled effect and black hand blown edge, produced by the master Murano glassmaker Archimede Seguso. The item is a Classic Mid-Century Modern chandelier and comes with a stylized brass ring top canopy and fabric coiled cord. The item was produced in Venice during 1970s. Amazing and charming that will smarten a midcentury living room or kitchen thanks to the delicate pink tone of its light. The glass has some minor stains and no chipping. Seguso Family has been dedicated to the art of Murano glass in Venice since May 3, 1397. Seguso is one of the most esteemed, historical and respected glass manufacturers on the island, and among the largest glass furnaces in Murano, which has a few, homonymous furnaces. Glass made by the Seguso furnace can be found in over 75 museums worldwide, such as MOMA in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Today, Seguso is known for its high-end Venetian glass objects, lighting, accessories and custom installations. Seguso glass has been made for the Pope, Royalty and numerous luxury interiors throughout the world.

    Stunning Mid Century White and Crystal "Tessuto" Murano Glass Chandelier. This beautiful object was produced in Italy in the 70s by Venini. Woven Glass created by Carlo Scarpa for Venini in the 1930s; similar to filigree but obtained using very thin reeds joined with alternating colors and flattened to form strips similar to fabric ribbons, joined and manipulated to obtain the desired design. This is an exceptionally beautiful chandelier due to the state of the piece, the size of the light but above all the subtlety of the Tessuto Murano Glass. A stunning piece of lighting with infinite elegance that will complement an art deco or mid-century living room or entryway perfectly. The Chandelier uses a single E26/27 light bulb. Scarpa was born in Venice. Much of his early childhood was spent in Vicenza, where his family moved when he was 2 years old. After his mother's death at the age of 13, he moved with his father and brother to Venice. Carlo attended the Academy of Fine Arts where he concentrated on architectural studies. Graduated from the Academy of Venice, with the title of Professor of Architecture, he was apprenticed to the architect Francesco Rinaldo.
