One of Two Bakalowits Chandeliers 'Supernova', Nickel Crystal Glass, 1960s
About the Item
One of two ultra rare and fantastic Supernova Sputnik chandeliers or pendant lights by Bakalowits & Soehne, Austria, Vienna, manufactured in midcentury, circa 1960.
The price is per chandelier. They are sold individually or as pair.
A ball shaped nickel-plated brass frame is decorated with hundreds of handcut crystal glass beads.
The sockets are inside the ball shaped body which consists of two half-balls. The upper one can be lifted easily to change the bulbs. This light is an excellent piece of craftsmanship.
Each fixture takes eight small Edison screw base bulbs (E14 candelabra with max. 40W per bulb).
Light bulbs are not included. It is possible to install the lamps in all countries (US, UK, Europe, Asia, Canada, ...) although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity. The fixtures also can be used with a dimmer.
