Three metres or more, or as workplace or table lighting. The horizontal tube can be rotated by 360 degrees even the shade can be rotated. Features arm length: 200 cm/Shade width: 30 cm. ANVIA the lamp manufactory was founded in 1933 by the German emigrant Max Liebert in the Dutch town of Almelo as the "Algemeene Nederlandsche Verlichtingsindustrie Almelo". However, in 1942, the Jewish entrepreneurship family, which already had a lighting factory in its old home in Berlin, was forced by German occupation to sell the factory. Later in 1943, Max Liebert, his wife and son Werner were deported and murdered in Sobibor and Auschwitz. Their daughter Ilse and her husband Fritz Kaufmann rebuilt ANVIA after the war. At the beginning of the 1950s, Ilse Kaufmann (who became the director of the company after her husband's death in 1952), together with designer J.J.M. (Jan) Hoogervorst, designed the annual lighting collections for the next decades. Thanks to the modern design of Hoogervorst, the company became one of the three most important Dutch lighting manufacturers in the 1950s to the 1970s alongside Philips and Hala. Today, ANVIA lamps from this era are typical representations of the "Mid-Century Modern" lighting design. The early works of Hoogervorst were strongly influenced by the progressive Italian lighting fixtures of the 50s, such as Arredoluce, Stilnovo and Arteluce, while his later designs became increasingly strict and functional.
