About the Item
One Isicholo African Hats. This red-ochre dyed women's hat is from the Zulu people, South Africa, and is made of a combination of cotton, human hair over a grass-fiber basketry frame. Traditionally reserved for married women, these hats are now worn during ceremonial events. This hat is raised on a custom metal stand. 20th century. They are sold and priced separately. The item pictured on the left is currently available, the hat on the right has sold.
They both have different dimensions: the larger one is: 21 inched diameter x 39 inched high and the smaller one is 20 inches diameter x 33.5 inches high.
