Floral Wreaths Quilt
About the Item
This lovely floral wreaths quilt has many traditional elements yet shows its own unique personality. The repetition of the flower in the center of the wreath is an unusual variation. Berries or grapes in the border with a leaf different from the interior is also somewhat out of the ordinary as is the sashing separating the blocks. One does not usually see that in applique quilts. It is very nicely quilted with diamonds throughout. Measurements are 63" x 68" which is unusually small for this kind of quilt and ideal for hanging. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1870.
