19th Century German Meissen painted porcelain plaque German, 19th Century Height 11cm, width 13.5cm, depth 1cm This charming painted porcelain plaque depicts a nymph and a faun embracing in a setting by a lake. Surrounding them are foliage, two other figures and a boar who runs across the foreground. The plaque is set in a metal frame, and bears the Meissen manufactory porcelain marks to the reverse.
