Japanese Framed Wood Block Print by Takahashi Shozan III, 1920s

About the Item

A Japanese folk art woodblock print by Shozan Takahashi of the Otsu-e School. This figural print is an excellent example of Takahashi Shozan's adept knowledge of traditional block print. We have an additional print by this same artist of a kabuki character Fuji Musume (Wisteria Maiden). This particular piece is signed with an orange stamp to the lower left. It is professionally framed under glass with a burnt orange mat in a black wooden frame with gilt detail and attached hardware. How we would style it: This would be a wonderful way to add a bit of folk art to any art collection. We suggest keeping this piece in the current frame, and hanging on a gallery wall, or perhaps down a hallway with other pieces of a woodblock collection. Dimensions: (Approximate) 1.4 lbs 10" wide 13.5" tall 1" deep.
