Dentzel Carved Ostrich Carousel Animal

About the Item

Carved ostrich carousel animal. Made by Dentzel Carousel Company in Philadelphia., circa 1890-1900. Considered one of the hardest animals to carve because of all the detail. This was taken from a decommissioned carousel in Detroit. The paint was carefully restored by Peter Deen.
