1920s Set of Six Fruit Knives in a Large Polished 'Turbo Marmoratus' Seashell

About the Item

Beautiful large pearled polished turbo marmoratus shell holder with six fruit knives also with mother of pearl and silvered handles, they stay in place through an ingenious construction inside. The metal of the knives shows some spots of very minor surface wear, but are still sharp, so decorative and functional!

    Very interesting early 20th Century Czech made taxidermy cow "Tur Domácí Bos Taurus" hind leg for classroom study, probably used at a University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The leg is at least a hundred years old, you can see by the way it is fixed together (the curly iron thread) and the surface ware of the real bones, it is smooth and yellowish. The iron and wood holder however is probably aded very recently (my guess is in the 80s 90s). Tur Domácí Bos Taurus (which is Czech and Latin for domestic bovine, or domestic cow) is an even-toed ungulate from the genus Bos of the bovine family...
