Sterling Silver Canteen of Cutlery for 12 Persons

An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage George VI English straight sterling silver Dog Nose pattern flatware service for twelve persons; an addition to our canteen of cutlery collection The pieces of this exceptional vintage George VI sterling silver flatware set for twelve persons have been crafted in the Dog Nose pattern. The surface of each handle is embellished with the contemporary engraved initials 'FS'. Each spoon features impressive rat tail ornamentation to the reverse of the bowl. The original sterling silver forks have three tines/prongs. This vintage silver flatware set consists of 94 pieces: Basic Service: 12 Table forks 12 Soup spoons 12 Dessert forks 12 Dessert spoons 12 Teaspoons 12 Coffee spoons 12 Egg spoons Additional Pieces: 6 Serving spoons Pair of sauce ladles Butter knife Sugar tongs The components of this London made cutlery service have been crafted by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd in 1947; the components will have been crafted in the same year but due to the hallmarking system the items are struck with the date letters L and M. The anterior surface of each egg spoon retains the original gilding to the bowls. This vintage silver service can be purchased with Dog Nose pattern knives if so desired; for further information please contact Andrew Campbell directly. This impressive vintage flatware service is supplied in felt cutlery rolls; which not only protect the items in storage but significantly reduce tarnishing. Condition This vintage silver flatware set is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Each component has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition, Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each piece are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.
