Silver 13 Lot Austrian Nicest Biedermeier Pair of Candlesticks, Vienna Made 1846
About the Item
Austrian stunning Biedermeier silver pair of candlesticks
made 1846.
Gorgeous Viennese silver pair of candlesticks of finest manufacturing quality as well as of most elegant appearance: These candlesticks were made during famous Viennese High Biedermeier Period.
Each of them is based on round foot with scalloped edge (the base is hollow at reverse side, not filled!). Main parts of candlesticks' surface have smooth appearance whereas edged area of foot/base is stunningly decorated
with garland consisting of scrolls, flower's blossoms, pomegranates and leaves (chasing work). Finally, the stalk having two areas bulging out is topped by most elegant grommet.

Hallmarked Silver 812.5 (Silver 13 lot):
Branded by so-said Viennese Radl Punze 1846 (well visible).
Master's mark existing (AW):
Most probably these are initials for Viennese master Andreas Weichesmueller (having been active in period as from circa 1830 until circa 1850).
