The motif for the 1995 A. Michelsen Christmas series was created by artist Ole Kortzau, inspired by the ancient Nordic tradition of the mid winter festival. “The sun that gives us hope of rebirth of the light which is absent in the winter, and which spring brings back to us.”. The motif, entitled the winter solstice, is executed in lovely colors characteristic of a winter landscape at sunset red, white and blue.
Elegant Christmas Cutlery
Every year since 1910, well-known artist had brought fresh inspiration to A. Michelsen’s collection of Christmas cutlery. The Christmas cutlery is made of gold and sterling silver with the motif inlaid enamel. This year’s motif is produced in a strictly limited edition. In March 1996 the tools will be destroyed, rendering any further production impossible.
