Turn-of-the-century sterling silver portable inkwell. Drum-form with hinged and cork-lined cover. Repousse scrolls, leaves, and flowers on sides and cover top. A nice piece with strong regional associations. Fully marked with maker’s stamp for William Wilson & Son, who was active in Philadelphia from ca 1883 to 1909, and retailer’s stamp for Bailey, Banks & Biddle, also in Philadelphia. Weight: 2.4 troy ounces.
