Antique Georgian Sterling Silver Toast/Letter Rack, 1796

A very good and large antique Georgian English sterling silver letter/toast rack; part of our ornamental silverware collection. This antique George III sterling silver toast rack has a rectangular form with cut corners. The letter/toast rack has six compartments divided by a large angular arch style frame, graduating in size. The central arch supports a shaped, incurved sterling silver carrying handle. The cut cornered base incorporates a plain central strut and is supported by four ball style feet. Condition This antique silver toast rack is very good gauge of silver, very good quality and in very good condition. The rack has had strengthening to the end central strut to enhance the solidity of this antique piece. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base are very clear.
