About

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver pepperette modelled in the form of a pheasant; an addition to our animal related silverware collection. This exceptional antique Victorian cast sterling silver gilt pepperette has been realistically modelled in the form of a pheasant. This impressive antique silver pheasant pepper has been embellished with details reproducing the fine definition of the plumage, in addition to the bird's anatomical features. This sterling silver piece retains the original hallmarked push fit cover/head which features pierced 'pepper' holes. The underside of the tail bears the contemporary engraved inscription '1877 - 1927, M. & H.M, from all their Nephews & Neices'. This exceptional pepper shaker retains the original gilding and is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire. Condition This antique silver pheasant is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The cast decoration is all very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the bird's neck and sleeve of the cover/head are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
