An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George III English sterling silver samovar; an addition to our Georgian silver teaware collection.
This exceptional antique George III sterling silver samovar has a plain urn shaped form supported by a spreading circular pedestal foot onto a plain square base.
The body of this impressive antique silver samovar is embellished with chased concave fluted ornamentation to the lower portion and the upper portion features a bright cut engraved oval cartouche.
The upper rim of this exceptional samovar is encircled with an applied bead decorated border.
The anterior surface of the body incorporates a fine and impressive cast spigot accented with reed decoration, incorporating the impressive, original incurved shaped handle.
This spigot is further ornamented with a floral design on a matte background, in addition to a ram's head to the terminal.
The samovar is fitted with a pair of cast sterling silver narrow loop handles with moulded ornamentation to the handpieces.
This impressive Georgian silver samovar retains the original plain swept hallmarked push fit cover surmounted with an impressive cast silver acorn style finial.
The upper portion of the cover and circular spreading foot are encompassed with further bead ornamentation.
Condition
This antique silver samovar is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The cast and applied decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base and part hallmarks to the sleeve of the cover are all very clear.
