US$1,377.29

About

A fine and impressive antique George VI English sterling silver teapot in the Art Deco style, an addition to our silver teaware collection. This fine antique George VI sterling silver teapot has a plain circular rounded form onto a circular stepped foot. The surface of the body of this Art Deco teapot is plain and unembellished. This fine teapot is fitted with a plain hinged hallmarked cover surmounted with the original iconic Art Deco style Bakelite finial, secured to the interior with a wing nut. The teapot retains the original C-shaped Bakelite handle with a tiered design to the upper portion of the handpiece and plain sterling silver sockets, all in the Art Deco style. This fine example of antique teaware has an impressive swan necked spout with a stepped socket and encompassed with a girdle design. Condition This antique teapot is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in exceptional condition. The interior of the teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the teapot and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear in keeping with location; the first portion of the maker's mark has worn but remains legible. Dimensions Length from back of handle to tip of spout 27.3 cm/10.7" Diameter 15.2 cm/6" Height 13 cm/5.1" Weight 16 troy ounces/497g Maker: William Neale & Son Ltd Origin: Birmingham, England Date: 1938 Video: A video of this fine piece is available upon request. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique teaware.
