    This is a truly magnificent and highly distinguished pair of antique Victorian silver-plated five-light, four branch table candelabra by the renowned silversmiths Elkington & Co, Birmingham, bearing the Elkington mark with date letter for 1873. Each of these splendid candelabra features a stunning fluted stem with Corinthian Capital cast socket and detachable arms with four foliage cast branches, each terminating in a tapering socket with a further central socket. To add even more splendour to this superb pair, they stand on an impressive square shaped bases decorated with classical urns. The undersides of the candelabra bear the registration number 18123. The attention to detail is fantastic and they are certain to attract attention wherever they are placed. Condition: In really excellent condition, please see photos for confirmation of condition.     A very fine & impressively large silver plated soup tureen by Elkington & Company of London, the substantial oval body having a 4 quart capacity, sided by open handles and decorated with embossed & engraved foliate motifs centered by blank foliate cartouches, the conforming lid fitted with a detachable handle and engraved heraldic crests, raised overall upon a stepped oval foot, the underside bearing impressed factory marks for Elkington & Co., together with date letter for 1884. ELKINGTON & COMPANY BIO: George Richards Elkington & Henry Elkington were the first to discover and patent the silver plating process in the 1830s.
