About

A fine and impressive, large antique Victorian English sterling silver presentation cup; an addition to our presentation silverware collection This fine antique Victorian sterling silver cup has a plain circular bell shaped form supported by a baluster shaped knopped pedestal onto a circular domed spreading foot. The body of this large presentation cup is embellished with two impressive bands of bright cut engraved stylized quatrefoil floral designs amidst circular motifs and incorporating tri-lobed leaf ornamentation to each incurve. The rounded knop to the pedestal is encircled with further circular motifs. The foot is encompassed with a band of bright cut engraved interlacing lozenge designs accented with pendant drop style ornamentation. The underside of this large and impressive cup bears the retailer’s mark ‘R. C. Oldfield silversmith, Old Post Office Place, Liverpool’. If required, this antique presentation cup could be supplied with a bespoke ebonized black plinth with sterling silver plaque or band, suitable for a personal engraved inscription.
