The Wood & Hulme, Garfield Pottery (Waterloo Road, Burslem) plates are decorated with a printed design of a fish amongst seaweed within a border with six bright blue panels decorated with a flowering branch issuing forth roses into the central design. Between each panel is a stylized flowerhead. Mark: Garfield / beehive with the word TRADEMARK below/ LS. & S (Wood and Hulme, Earthenware Manufacturers, Garfield Pottery Burslem. Registration # 8844 for 1884.
