Liverpool Herculaneum Yellow-Banded Openwork Creamware Dessert Dishes

US$1,250per set

About

The Liverpool creamware openwork dishes were made at the Herculaneum factory. The charming dishes have an outer band of openwork attached to a basketweave border. The outer section of the central well has a wide band of yellow ground with a band of wheatsheafs. Each part of the design is separated by various types of different black bands. The central well is left plain. A third dish is available too. Reference: The Herculaneum Pottery: Liverpool's Forgotten Glory, Page 131, Figure 114 for the plates with the same fretting and moulding but with painted decoration and marked Herculaneum.
