QUITE RARE PICTURE PLATE OF VIENNESE IMPERIAL PORCELAIN MANUFACTORY: Stunning quality / edged areas are decorated with so-said Grotesque (Italian: GROTTESCHI) pattern. - Material is PORCELAIN (multicoloured painted). DATED 1816 (year's mark at reverse side visible: '816) Blue Beehive Mark (underglazed) of Austrian Imperial Porcelain Manufactory Red Painter's Number: 87 ( = Franz Sollneck active 1799 - 1839 ) White Impressed Former's Number (so-said 'Weissdrehernummer') existing ________________________________________________________________________________ PICTURE PAINTING IN MIDDLE AREA: Most probably it is the Goddess of Love - VENUS - accompanied by Cherub of Love, being situated in woody landscape while a mountain range is visible in background. Venus seems to tease / sting the little winged AMOR since she holds bow and arrows in a manner so that the cupid tries to catch them unavailingly ... ________________________________________________________________________________ DIAMETER: 24.5 cm (circa 9.8 inches)
