Pair of Antique 18th Century Imperial Vienna Porcelain Sauce or Gravy Boats

About the Item

A fine pair of 18th century Viennese "Wiener" porcelain two handled sauceboats from the Maria Theresa period. With polychrome 'Streublumen' decoration throughout and an Osier rim and shell moulded lip. Bases bear a blue underglaze Bindenschild beehive mark and a painter's mark in puce no. 87. Measures: Length ca. 9 in.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. With some highpoint and edge wear, some factory firing flaws to both pieces, a small chip to one base, some wear to the enamel decoration, very fine and light surface scratches throughout, and other signs of light wear consistent with age.
