Meissen gorgeous rare table clock of finest manufacturing quality. Measures: height 38.5 cm (= 15.15 inches) diameter 17.5 cm (= 6.88 inches) Manufactory: Meissen Hallmarked: Blue Meissen Sword Mark (underglazed) First quality Model 60886 / painter's number 91000-55 / former's number 82 Dating: second half of 20th century, made circa 1981 Material: white porcelain, glossy finish, finest multicolored paintings Technique: handmade porcelain Style: Modern, designed by Peter Strang (before 1981) Peter Strang was born in 1936 in Dresden / Germany. He began to work in Meissen manufactory as apprentice in 1950; he was sculptor in 1954; in 1955 Strang began to study at University of Fine Arts at Dresden, in 1960 he finished his studies as sculptor with diploma and returned to Meissen manufactory. Peter Strang was honored in the year 2000 after having been member of Meissen manufactory for half a century.  Rare Meissen table clock: Spherical clock case attached to columnar stalk decorated with sculptured flower's blossoms / broad foot existing. The golden painted Arabic numerals are visible on rosettes looking like flower's blossoms which surround the monochrom white clockface. The multicolored paintings consist of large-scale flower's blossoms - especially painted in purple red - dark blue & bright blue colors. Condition: Very good / there aren't any damages existing.
