Meissen Quite Rare Figurine Group by Circle Of Johann Joachim Kaendler (designed circa 1745): The Deal with Geese Designer: Circle of Johann Joachim Kaendler (born in 1706 near Dresden / Germany - died 1775 in Meissen) Kaendler was chief sculptor at Meissen manufactory as from 1742 until the year 1775. He is the most famous modeller Meissen manufactory ever had and created well-known series such as Shepherd Figurines, Comedian's Children, Gardener Children (with Acier), Paris Town Criers (with Reinicke and Meyer) , Gallant Figurines, etc. Specifications: Figurine Group 'THE DEAL WITH GEESE' It Is A Stunning Meissen Figurine Group depicting a Market Scenery (a man selling geese talks to a woman): The man holds a goose supported by his right knee / he talks to a woman who is about to take over the goose held by the man. A second goose sitting on earth - among the figurines - is watching the scene. The modelling of the figurine group I'm offering here is of Finest Quality, the figurines' features are very life-like as well as typic. The lady is wearing a dress of such rustic type which was usual in 18th century. The barefooted man has a hat with broad brim, he is dressed in garments of a peasant. Both figurines are situated on flat base decorated with a few sculptured leaves. This Figurine Group is of Most Remarkable Appearance, Indeed!
