Antique Meissen Neu Brandenstein Gravy or Sauce Boat

About the Item

A fine Meissen gravy or sauce boat. By the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory. Having tin handles, two spouts, and an integral undertray. In the Neu Brandenstein relief pattern. With its trelliswork border and floral spray and insect decoration throughout. Originally designed by Johann Joachim Kandler & Johann Aberlein in 1741 on the commission of Freidrich August from Brandenstein. Simply a wonderful sauce boat! Date: Late 19th or Early 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There is a small factory firing flaw in the foot. Otherwise, there are some very fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Meissen Pattern: Neu Brandenstein Marks: Marked to the base with a blue crossed swords Meissen Facotry mark. Impressed numbers 'A2' & '15'. Measurements: Length: ca. 10 1/4 in.
