A Mid-Century Modern Era Sarreguemines, French faïence, Majolica glazed fish serving platter. A platter with raised rims and a protruding fish head and tail, showing a dimensional, high relief pattern of scales and fins. The burnt sienna and deep green glazing has a slight iridescent quality where it pools in the deeper areas of the mold. Nicely sized for presenting a whole fish such as a large salmon. Marked: Sarreguimines, France, circa 1960 – 1970 Measures: 21.25 in L x 10 in. W x 1.75 in. H Excellent conditions with the expected light crazing.
