19th Century English Majolica Wheat Motif Cobalt Blue Rolled Rim Bread Tray

An English Majolica wheat motif bread tray, circa 1880-1885.  A heavy and dimensional platter showing a running border of wheat heads encircling a deep cobalt blue center ringed with a basket weave. Gathered wheat side handles are incorporated into the rolled rim. The verso is a chocolate brown sponged over a yellow ochre glaze. A Classic piece of Majolica for the table, a must-have mold for any collection in excellent condition.
