George III Classical Water/Wine Ewer Made in London in 1791 by John Robins

About the Item

The Classical vase shaped main body rises to a reeded band above a beautiful band of flower heads in octagonal frames. The front displays a shield shaped cartouche engraved with contemporary script initials surrounded by a very finely executed cartouche of drapery mantling. The base of the neck is decorated with a band of prick dot bands and foliate motifs and also rises to a reeded rim. The bright cut domed, hinged, cover terminates in an urn finial.
