US$29,646.87per set

About

A silver ewer provided with a winged putto-shaped high handle resting on an angel head. A wide frieze with an alternation of Cupids and flowery foliages on matting background decorates the paunch and friezes of water leaves adorn the collar of the ewer. Its base is underlined with reeds in relief and its wide overflow is decorated with a bearded man, a recurring decorative pattern under the First Empire. The bowl is decorated with a frieze of reeds, bearded and crowned heads and vine branches in medallions. "Minerve" and 2nd cock 1809-1819 mark. Signed EG for master silversmith Edme Gelez.
