Circus Monkey, Hand Blown Colored Glass Dome
About the Item
This collection allows you to imagine a magically whimsical experience on your dining table, living surfaces and console tops; the unseen trajectory of a graceful launching trapeze, the tooting of the agile elephant whilst balancing on its ball, a playful monkey performing its antics, all protagonists from a turn-of-the 20th century circus troupe.

- Lead-Balls Glass in Murano Glass, Veleni by L+W, 2022, Limited EditionBy Lanzavecchia + WaiLocated in Milan, ITRound and tiny, yet heavy and black: lead balls identify this glass with a solid character, VELENI’s Glass GL-50mg. Moving across the cup, the pollutant engages with all of our senses, creating a visually arresting and sonoric experience that reminds us at every sip of water the weight of our actions. VELENI is a collection of 12 glass sculptures designed by Lanzavecchia + Wai and crafted by the expert hands of Murano’s glass blowers, a contemporary vanitas shedding awareness on the impact humankind has had on Earth. A series of objects whose beauty can confound, the collection’s interior is enriched by aesthetically pleasing yet extremely dangerous pollutants. Revealed by the transparency of glass whilst isolated by airtight chambers, the appeal of the colors clashes with what they actually represent, making us wonder: how and why is our waste so close to what we consume? Playing with proportions and volumes, the collection allows us to visualize the pollutants generated by our lives, which contaminate our waters and end up on our tables. VELENI hopes to lead you onto a journey of self-discovery, to a maturation of awareness on how pollution is jeopardizing our health, and the environment. About Lanzavecchia+Wai Lanzavecchia + Wai is a creative collaboration between Francesca Lanzavecchia (Pavia, 1983) and Hunn Wai (London, 1980). - Blue Murano Glass Martini Cup, VELENI by L+W, 2022 - Limited Edition collectibleBy Lanzavecchia + WaiLocated in Milan, ITThe conical stem filled with colored detergent seems to invade the chalice cup at every sip of our aperitif. Sculpturally beautiful, VELENI’s Martini Glass MG-30lb plays on the dichotomy between attraction and repulsion: every time we have a drink we realize the bittersweet message linked to the dispersion of waste in the environment. VELENI is a collection of 12 glass sculptures designed by Lanzavecchia + Wai and crafted by the expert hands of Murano’s glass blowers, a contemporary vanitas shedding awareness on the impact humankind has had on Earth.
