Thomas Webb Enamelled Lizard Glass Vase Jules Barbe, circa 1888

About the Item

A rare and stunning antique Thomas Webb & Sons cranberry glass vase with ribbed design applied in relief with a lizard with painted enamel and gilded detail and set against an enameled floral and grass design by Jules Barbe. The tall elegantly shaped vase is not marked however has an original Phillips paper auction label attached to the base. For similar example please see BRITISH GLASS 1800-1914 by Charles R Hajdamach, colour plate 41 page 321 for a similar jug.
