PAIR Art Deco Parfait Glasses by George Davidson Amber Cloud Glass, Circa 1930s

About the Item

These pair of beautiful small glass Vases or Parfait (Desert) glasses were made by George Davidson and Co. of Gateshead England in the Art Deco period, Circa 1930s. These vases were made in various colours and these are the amber version. George Davidson started cloud glass production in 1923 and these small vases are pattern number 1, seen in their catalogues of 1928. The vases are polished on the outside with a matte finish to the inside. Cloud glass is created by applying streaks or trails of dark coloured glass to a paler base glass which is then compressed in a mould to create a beautiful random finished pattern, each piece being unique. We date these pieces to the English Art Deco period of the 1930s.
