Loetz Art Nouveau Vase Metallic Yellow Medici In Metal Mount, Austria ca 1902

Finest Bohemian Art Nouveau glass vase with into form blown body with a square basic shape, drawn up in a wave shape and narrowing towards the top, the upper edge at the corners drawn out to four points, spherical polished pontil, dealer sticker. Set in assembly of openwork, screwed plates with fire-gilded surface, signed 'Agenor Wien' + eagle and punched 'D'. Shape: Production number / pattern not preserved Decor: Metallic yellow Medici - Phenomenon Genre 2/484: Colorless glass overlaid and underlaid in metallic yellow, with inlaid silver crumbs twisted into irregular tongues, reduced and matt iridescent green-bluish gold shimmering. Manufactured by Loetz Widow / Klostermühle / Bohemia Dating of manufacture: around 1902/1903 Size: total height: 34.5 cm / 7.08 in side length: 21.5 cm / 4.33 in Condition: vase excellent - mount in cleaned original condition.

Since the artists at Loetz were always open to new influences, they experimented with a variety of different decoration variations.
