St Clément Trompe L’Oeil St. Yellow Lemon Wedge Center Oyster Plate

About the Item

A French majolica glazed oyster plate from the faïence factory of Saint-Clément, Circa 1920-1930. Six oyster shell shaped wells with green, blue and white centers are set against a stippled ground glazed in a blue- black fading to a deep green. The raised center condiment well is molded as a lemon wedge glazed with bright lime green fleshy centers and outlined in yellow. A nautical rope molded rim. A dimensional mold with an intense deep green, nearly black verso. Outstanding bold color. Marked St. Clément, France with the mold No. 4589 Measures: 10 in. diameter x 1 in. height All plates are in incredible vintage condition.
