Fine Set of Six Georgian Mason's Dinner Plates, Small Vase Flowers and Rocks Ptn

US$2,167.42per set

About

These are a fine early set of six ironstone pottery dinner plates made by the Mason's factory at Lane Delph, Staffordshire, England and beautifully decorated in the small vase, flowers and rocks pattern, fully stamped and dating to the earliest period of Mason's Ironstone production, circa 1818. This design is one of Mason's very decorative Chinoiserie patterns called "Small Vase, Flowers and Rocks" pattern, which is one of Mason's rarer patterns with very rich hand gilding and all hand painted, the detail of each plate being different. This Imari inspired pattern is illustrated on page 110 of a Guide to Mason's Patent Ironstone patterns, circa 1813-1848, produced by The Mason's Collectors Club. All plates have the straight line impressed factory mark; MASONS PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA, which is recorded as being one of the earliest impressed marks, indicating a date of circa 1813-1820, making this plate one of the earliest pieces of Mason's, as their ironstone was only produced from 1813, which is late George 111 period. All plates are in remarkable condition for their age of about 200 years old and show little signs of wear. Overall a very beautiful and decorative set of SIX Mason's dinner plates.
