19th c. Spode "Tumbledown Dick" Dessert Service on White Ground

About the Item

Not the typical colorway of Spode's wonderful "Tumbledown Dick" pattern, this is painted on a white ground, givng it great versatility and bold contrast. The set consists of 10 dessert plates 8 1/8" in diameter, a covered sauce tureen and under plate (10 3/4" x 7 1/4") and an oval serving dish (5 1/2" x 10"). The painting is detailed, the colors crisp and well-executed. A beautiful set for display or use, the condition is amazingly quite "perfect" especially for a set from the 1830's!
