A pair of 19th century French faience heraldic lion candlesticks by Emile Gallé, hand painted in opulent cobalt blue. Each lion rises up on hind legs and holds an armored helmet that forms a cup for a candle. Manufactured at the St. Clement Faiencerie in the East of France. The tongue of one lion has broken off.
