Dutch Delft Serving Dish, Van Duyn Factory, c. 1765

About the Item

A rare, large Dutch Delft rectangular shaped serving dish, Van Duyn factory, c. 1765. The deep dish, painted in blue, with a European scene of a farmer stood behind a deer, with farm buildings in the background, within a scroll shaped panel. The moulded border, painted with panels containing flowering plants, beneath a shell and ‘C’ scroll moulded rim. Marked ‘Duyn’ in underglaze blue to the reverse. Medium: Delft Measures: Height: 8 cm, 3 1/8”. Width: 31 cm, 12 1/4”. Depth: 25.7 cm, 10”. Condition: Typical glaze chips to the rim and high points. No restoration.
