One-of-a-Kind Set of 12 Cut Crystal Goblets by Erwin Krause for Tharaud Designs
About the Item
Erwin Krause for Tharaud designs, West Germany and the USA, circa 1950s. Set of 12 plus a spare for 13 total. These oversized water goblets are magnificent. The crystal rings like a bell and the design and execution of the cutting are superb. Erwin Krause, arguably the greatest glass designer and cutter of the 20th century, designed this pattern to be the jewel in the crown of Tharaud designs. It is a complex and expensive pattern to make. In the end, it was never produced and only these 13 were made. Excellent condition.
