Wedgood Rare Copper Dipped Jasperware Jug with Classical Figures
About the Item
A rare Wedgwood copper dipped jasperware jug with classical figures dating from the early to mid-19th century. The ceramic jug has a copper coating over a molded base with typical classical figures in relief around the body and set between raised patterned borders with relief molded leaf designs to the handle. The jug would have been silver plate with remnants of this to the base. The jug is impressed Wedgwood to the base along with the number 30.
