Very large French Majolica (Barbotine) rooster vase by Jerome Massier, French, circa 1880, modeled as a life-size crowing rooster (tongue intact, often missing or restored), naturalistically and vibrantly glazed in brown, blue, black, yellow, green, red and pink, the vase formed my ears of corn glazed in yellow and corn stalks glazed in varying shades of green, accented by red and pink poppies, the interior of the vase glazed in turquoise blue, with black painted underglaze signature to bottom, 'Jerome Massier, Vallauris (A.M.)'
In excellent antique condition.
Measurements: H 23 x W 10 x D 10 inches.
