Tall Arcing Ceramic Vase, White Glaze with Brown Edge, Hand Built

$975

About

Echoing the flow of air or the sound of music, these elongated vessels "Breathing Tubes" gracefully weave up from a heavy base. Every part of them is irregular, from the unevenly undulating forms to the touch of brown at the lip. All hand-built, hand-glazed, each one is unique yet they create a unified feel. Sold separately but recommend groups of 2 or more. Extra photos are included of groupings. Signed at bottom. Measures: 23.63 inch tall. Hand washing recommended.

About The Maker

Helena Starcevic Ceramics produces work that straddles the line between fine and decorative art. Each piece is one of a kind, hand-built entirely by the artist in her New York studio.   Taking inspiration from the natural world, Ms. Starcevic's work includes references to the stark beauty of the desert, prehistoric cave paintings, and the human form (within and without). Everything is filtered through Ms. Starcevic’s own singular aesthetic, at once quiet yet strong, meditative, and beautiful. Pieces are made in different clays and finishes, and at different scales. Groupings are available. Helena Starcevic’s ceramic pieces are held in private collections across the US and Europe. She has held numerous residencies including one at the Museum of Art and Design in New York City.
