Large Ceramic Decorative Plate by Ceramics of Monaco

About the Item

A beautiful handcrafted, hand painted decorative plate from Ceramics of Monaco. Fabricated in one of the many small ceramic factories in the Principality of Monaco. The region has been famous since 1893 for its potters. But it is the post-war period, exactly 1946, that marks the emergence of numerous workshops specialized in this art. The best known: Azureart, Cérart, Ceramica, Céraflor, Cerdazur, Monacéram, Monazur, etc. The majority of the decoration of the pieces are floral, but the marine world also inspired more rare pieces. Rich with handcrafted techniques of a bygone era, which evokes the joy of living of the post-war years.
