George Jones Majolica Strawberry Server with Cream and Sugar, English, 1879
About the Item
George Jones Majolica strawberry server with separate cream and sugar, English, 1879. Naturalistically molded strawberries, strawberry leaves and blossoms to the inner and outer border, the center bowl and ground glazed in deep turquoise blue, with separate cream jug and sugar bowl, the reverse with simulated tortoiseshell mottling, impressed British Registry Mark for 16 February 1872, with George Jones date code: impressed 'E' for 1879.
In excellent antique condition, with no damage, repairs, or restoration. Very fine typical age-related crazing only.
