Large 19th Century Sevres Style Comport
About the Item
A very impressive, good quality late 19th century French Sevres style porcelain comport. Having wonderful twin gilded ormolu monopodia handles, a pierced scrolling foliate gallery. Cobalt blue ground with gilded classical decoration surrounding an inset hand painted panel depicting lovers courting, the reverse with a scene of a classical ruin. Raised on a pedestal porcelain and gilded ormolu base.
