US$2,007.38per set

About

This is a good set of Twelve Mason's ( Ashworth Bros.) ironstone Bowls, all dating to the mid Victorian period of the 19th century, at the time when Mason's was owned and controlled by George L Ashworth after the bankruptcy of C J Mason in 1848. Matching sets of 12 antique Bowls are rare and hard to find. All the bowls are nominally the same size and shape and are all hand decorated in one of Mason's beautiful Chinoiserie patterns called; "Old Japan Vase" gilded Pattern No. 3566. The pattern would have been transfer printed then boldly hand enamelled with much hand painted gilded detail. Each base carries a puce transfer printed mark and and various impressed Ashworth Real Ironstone China marks, with the pattern number hand painted : B 3556, which is the pattern number.
