About the Item
Small White Cubo is an ashtray made up of two simple elements: a cube shaped shell open on one side contains an element made of bent sheet metal. This element is designed so that the acute angle of one end of the sheet makes the ash fall inside whilst the overlap of the other end hides the contents once inside.
Bruno Munari was one of the most important Italian architects, artists and designers of the 20th Century. Born in Milan in 1907 he started his artistic work very young during the Futurist period and dedicated himself to painting, graphic design, film making, poetry an writing. His work is characterized by its strong educative nature, which stems from his passionate interest in using play to develop creativity in children. In the last years of his life he concentrated more and more on the problem of visual and artistic education organizing and participating in courses, seminars and activities for children, adults and teachers. After more than half a century his creations live on to this day in his collections for Danese Milano.
